Irvin Rosales’ writing style is both distinctive and adaptable. He writes with depth and precision, presenting ideas in a logical, well-layered manner that guides the audience smoothly from one scene to the next.
In the context of Chiroptera, I have had the opportunity to work alongside as well as observe his writing process and finished work. Whether the task was to create a small section that binds two ideas together by the end of the day or write a whole scene out in a week, Irvin demonstrates an ability to write creatively on a deadline and still provide a professional product.
He approaches the process in precise stages, beginning with brainstorming before moving onto structuring out the film. Once an initial idea is complete, he dedicates significant attention to ensuring that the idea fits into the scene and that it contains the thematic elements discussed. Irvin consistently demonstrated a commitment to strengthening each piece of the film through multiple revisions.
His work on Chiroptera — a short film created by myself and a dear friend at DePaul University — was greatly appreciated due to his consistency and passion for writing.
Recommendation from the director.
Working with Irvin Rosales has been an incredible experience. He excels with orchestral tracks but has a clear vision with each song, working fast and relentlessly to create emotional and encapsulating music.
I can offer a general basis which he skillfully adapts with his own unique flair. It’s been an honor working with him, and it will be amazing seeing the growth whilst making intriguing tracks.
